Youth Residential

Adolescent Treatment Group Home

NOVA's youth residential treatment program is a dual diagnosis capable substance use disorder treatment program for adolescents (ages 13-18). Youth in the program generally have long histories of behavioral/emotional problems that either lead to or are aggravated by drug/alcohol abuse or dependence. The youth may have been non responsive to prior interventions, or are referred for initial treatment intervention. In all cases, however, the behavior and emotional problems aggravated by their substance use have reached such proportion that intervention of a less restrictive level would present too great a risk to the youth. Length of stay in the treatment group home is based on the individual's needs, risks, and level of motivation for change, though it is generally three to six months, with careful review and reassessment conducted on a monthly basis.

Youth in the treatment program are involved in daily group therapy, weekly individual therapy, as well as bi-monthly family therapy sessions, all facilitated by licensed or provisionally licensed mental health professionals, (LMHP/PLMHP) or licensed or provisionally licensed drug and alcohol counselors (LADC/PLADC).
