Phone Calls
![]()
In the Adult and Youth Community, phone calls are permitted from approved persons after seven days. An exception may be made for legal matters.
Phone calls are permitted in the evenings from 5:00pm to 9:45pm and on weekends from 1:00pm to 9:45pm. Program members are allowed two, ten minutes calls and/or one long distance call. Long distance calls are at the expense of the program member and must have prior approval.
Until the privilege has been earned, all calls are monitored by the phone monitor or staff. The phone monitor who sits in the phone room coordinates incoming and outgoing calls. The Visitor/Phone list is available in the phone room for the monitor to verify approved callers. The monitor will dial the number of the outgoing call after verifying the name and number on the approved list. Incoming calls will also be verified against the approved list prior to the program member taking the call.
Phone calls other than business or emergencies will not be accepted during program hours. Messages will be taken and the calls may be returned during scheduled phone call hours.
