NOVA Alternative School is a Rule 18 Interim School approved by the Nebraska Department of Education. Daily classroom instruction and educational enrichment is provided for students involved in the Treatment Group Home. Additionally the NOVA Alternative School has staff and resources available to individuals involved in the adult residential treatment programs at NOVA as well, which include access to tutoring and vocational counseling so that they might overcome deficits including reading skills and job preparedness and GED completion.

NOVA employs certified teaching staff and uses North Central Accredited Material for junior and senior high students. The Program exhibits three virtues: appropriateness, flexibility, and creditability. It allows students to work at an individualized pace and encourages the display of maturity and responsibility via self-motivation, independent study and control of their own accomplishments.
