Adolescent Treatment Group Home

NOVA provides residential substance use disorder and dual diagnosis treatment for adolescents, ages 13-18 through its Treatment Group Home (TGH).  Adolescents in the program have histories of substance use, are diagnosed with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health disorders, and experience problems that stem from or are aggravated by drug use.  Adolescents may have been non-responsive to prior treatment interventions, or are referred for initial treatment intervention based on the seriousness of their use.  In all cases, however, the behavior and emotional problems aggravated by their substance use have reached such proportion that intervention at a less restrictive level would present too great a risk to the adolescent.  Length of stay in the TGH is based on the individual's needs, risks and level of motivation to change, though it is generally three to six months.  Reviews and reassessment of the individual takes place on a monthly basis, at a minimum.

TGH services include daily group therapy, weekly individual therapy, bi-monthly family therapy, daily independent living skill building and educational or vocational services.  Services are provided by licensed or provisionally licensed mental health practitioners (LMHP/PLMHP) or licensed or provisionally licensed drug and alcohol counselors (LADC/PLADC) with the support of paraprofessional staff.

Treatment Group Home Services are located at 3483 Larimore Avenue, Omaha, NE 68111.  For information or admissions, please contact Teresa Bunjer at (402) 455-8303 ext. 150 or admissions@novatc.org.
